Wiedergabe der mythologischen Szene nach der Schilderung des lateinischen Schriftstellers Ovid in seinen Metamorphosen, wonach der Göttervater Zeus in Gestalt eines Stiers die jugendliche Europa raubt. Europa in einem bunten Kleid mit einem Umhang auf dem weißen Stier sitzend, dieser wird von Nixen und Tritonen mit einer Blütengirlande geschmückt. Rechts unten ein weiterer Triton mit Nixen und Kindern im Spiel mit einem Delfin, im Hintergrund Meere und Küste, die sich bergig zum rechten Bildrand hin erhebt, mit Ansicht einer Stadtmauer mit Türmen und einem Obelisken. Oberhalb der Szenerie schwebende Putten mit großem Fruchtgehänge.
