Südliche Landschaft in Art der südlich Roms gelegenen Albaner Berge. Im Vordergrund ein ruinöser, kräftiger Mauerturm mit ruinösen Anbauten, weiter hinten zieht eine Bogenbrücke über einen Fluss mit Kaskade. Im fernen Hintergrund Berge in blauer Luftperspektive. Der Vordergrund belebt mit zahlreichen Hirten mit Ziegen und Eseln, im Zentrum eine Kuh, daneben junger Hirte mit Hündchen. Malerei in betonter Hell-Dunkel- Wirkung des ausgehenden 17. Jahrhunderts. Die Landschaft in abendlicher Stimmung wiedergegeben.
