Blick von erhöhtem Standpunkt auf eine Hügellandschaft mit von der untergehenden Sonne durchlichteten Baumgruppen. Im zentralen Vordergrund ein liegender Mann, nur mit einem Lendentuch bekleidet, von einem Hund begleitet. Rechts Schäfer mit einer Schafherde. Links hinten am Hügelrand ein Burgberg mit Anbau. Das lockere Laub der Baumkronen lässt das Blau des Himmels und die Wolken durchscheinen.
