An einem Weidenkorb mit kunstvoll drapierten Sommerblumen eine geöffnete Melone, Artischocke, Trauben und Pfirsiche abgelegt. Auf den Blütenzweigen ein roter Papagei, links ein Affe, der an einem Gängelband befestigt ist. Die Gegenüberstellung von Früchten, und Blumen in Zusammenhang mit den beiden Tieren hat symbolische Bedeutung. Einerseits ist hier ein Vergänglichkeitsaspekt gezeigt im Sinne des Memento mori durch die geöffneten, schnell verderblichen Melonen, andererseits wird der Gegensatz zwischen dem sprachbegabten Vogel und dem sprachunbegabten Affen im Bild aktualisiert.
