Anmerkung: Mathey war in den 20er Jahren Professor an der Akademie der Grafischen Künste in Leipzig, wo er neben expressionistischen Buchillustrationen auch Entwürfe für Textilien anfertigte. Nach 1945 übernahm er die Leitung des Museums in Offenbach. Er arbeitete mit Tendenz zur neuen Sachlichkeit in frischer Farbgebung. (5803020)
