KÖNIG CRESSUS Brustbildnis eines Herren in mittleren Jahren in orientalischer Kleidung mit Turban und höfische Hermelinumhang sowie goldener Halskette. Er hält in der Hand einen Nautiluspokal mit großer Perlmuttmuschel. Die Vorliebe der holländischen/niederländischen Malerei für orientalische Thematik sowie antik-orientalische Kostümierung geht auf das Werk Rembrandts zurück und wurde in der gesamten holländischen Schule aufgenommen. Bei dem Gemälde kann es sich auch um ein Portrait eines Fürsten handeln, der mit dieser Thematik in Verbindung gebracht wurde. Öl/Lwd. Doubliert. 71 x 59 cm. (561344)
