Italienische “Tauftafel“
In Kupfer getrieben und feuervergoldet. Rechteckige Reliefplatte mit Darstellung der “Darbringung im Tempel“. Im Zentrum an einem Altar der Hohepriester im Tempelinneren in Begleitung eines Levi mit brennenden Kerzen; im Vordergrund Maria und Josef mit dem Jesuskind. Am Boden Schale mit den Opfertauben sowie zwei weitere Personen kniend. Feine Relief/Hochrelief-Treibarbeit. Fein ziselliert und punziert, von hoher Qualität, ehemals als Kuß- oder Berührungstafel genutzt, daher altersentsprechender Abrieb am Bein des Jesuskindes. Obere rechte und untere linke Eckspitze abgebrochen. Hängeloch am Oberrand sonst in tadellosem Zustand. 17,2 x 14 cm. Italien, Anfang 16. Jhdt. (550224)
