1527 Moneglia - 1585 Madrid DIE HEILIGE MARIA MAGDALENA DEN EITELKEITEN DER WELT ENTSAGEND Die Heilige im Gefolge zweier Jungfrauen und eines kleinen Mädchen sowie zwei älteren Männern im Hintergrund beim Verlassen einer Säulenarchitektur mit leicht geneigtem Haupt und die Hand an die Brust gelegt. Rechts neben ihr die Heilige Martha sie mit erhobener Hand auf die Freuden des Jenseits verweisend. Die Bildszene zeigt in bewegender Weise Magdalena wie sie den Palast ihrer Familie verlässt, nachdem sie mit Jesus zusammen getroffen war.

Öl/Lwd. 107,7 x 155,5 cm. Anmerkung: G.F. Morelli (1683) berichtete bereits von diesem Bild von Luca Cambiaso mit der Beschreibung, die auf dieses Bild anzuwenden ist, und nennt als die wiedergegebene Architektur die Portasohle in Perugia. Das Gemälde ist ferner von Pascoli und von Ratti (1768) beschrieben und erwähnt worden. Das Gemälde wurde bei Colnaghi, New York, 1998 in einer Ausstellung gezeigt. Ausführlich beschrieben und ganzseitig abgebildet, Katalog Nr. 4 mit Provinienzangabe Bevignate Alessi, Perugia. Literatur G.F.
