Amida Buddha in großem Altarschrein
Darstellung des Buddha auf einem Lotossockel vor einer Mandorla stehend. Holz mit part. Goldlackauflage, etwas verrußt. Der Schrein mit sehr schönen vergoldeten Bronzebeschlägen, rs. bez. und datiert 1730. Minim. besch. H. 85 cm. Japan, 18. Jhdt. Anmerkung: Schreine dieser Art befanden sich neben shintoistischen Schreinen in jedem Haushalt. Seit der Edo-Periode (1603-1868) bestimmte das Tokugawa-Shôgunat, dass jeder Haushalt verpflichtet war, sich in einem buddhistischen Tempel registrieren zu lassen. Die Schreine befanden sich an einem besonderen Platz meist neben einer Statue oder einem Bildnis. (362993)
