Unten in einer Nische Bodhisattva Maitreya im Meditationssitz, von zwei Adoranten flankiert. Die Rechte angehoben, in der Linken eine Weihwasserflasche als Attribut. Darüber in Meditation ein Buddha unter Baldachin von Blattwerk, flankiert von zwei Säulen und knieenden Adoranten. An der Spitze ein Buddha oder Bodhisattva im Meditationssitz und zwei Dharmapala (Hüter der Lehre). Grauer Schiefer. Marmorsockel. H. 37,5 cm. Pakistan, Gandhara, 2./3. Jhdt. n.Chr. Anmerkung: Gandhara war östlichste Provinz Alexander des GroSSen, deshalb ist eine Stilvermischung von hellenistischer und buddhistischer Kunst feststellbar. (362691)
