Nicolas Benjamin de la Pierre
Französischer Maler, der 1767 in Moskau und seit 1768 in St. Petersburg tätig war, 1770 zum Mitglied der kaiserlich, russischen Akademie und zum Hofmaler des Zaren ernannt wurde. PORTRAIT EINER HÖFISCHEN DAME Wohl aus der Gesellschaft des Zarenhofes. Öl/Lwd. 55 x 45,7 cm im Oval. Links seitlich signiert und datiert 1788. Im alten Rahmen mit geschnitzter Bekrönung durch Musikinstrumente und durch Blüten und Blattwerk. Anmerkung: De la Pierre portraitierte den Zaren Paul I. und Katharina II. von Russland und zahlreiche Mitglieder der Zarenfamilie. Verso auf dem Keilrahmen alte Besitzerbezeichnung "S. Beit".
