Unter bewölktem Himmel im flachen Wasser am Ufer des Chiemsees stehend fünf Fischer, die gerade ihre Netze einziehen. Malerei mit zahlreichen Spiegelungen im Wasser bei teils pastosem Farbauftrag, typisch für die Art und die Motivik des Künstlers.
Der Künstler war ein österreichischer Landschaftsmaler und Vertreter der Münchener Schule. Da er für seine Gemälde häufig Motive aus dem Chiemgau benutzte, wird er auch als Chiemseemaler bezeichnet.
