Leicht nach rechts gewandte Dreiviertelfigur eines Mannes mit purpurnem Umhang und blau geschlitztem, mit Goldtressen versehenem Harnischkleid. Neben ihm ein Helm mit Federbusch, auf einem Tisch liegend, hinter ihm der Ausblick auf eine geöffnete Landschaft.

Anmerkung:
Ein ähnliches Portrait von Ferdinand Bol wird unter der RKD-Nummer 227327 geführt und befindet sich im Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Inv.Nr. 55.33, welches ungefähr in die gleiche Zeit wie das vorliegende Gemälde, nämlich um 1663 datiert wird und mit 119,4 x 94,6 cm ungefähr die gleichen Maße aufweist.
