In Nussbaum geschnitzt und patiniert. Offensichtlich als Pendants konzipiert ist dieses seltene Puttipaar auf uns gekommen. Es zeigt jeweils einen stark manieristisch dargestellten Körper eines Puttos in ungelenkem Kontrapost stehend, die eine Hand auf einem italienischen Wappenschild mit plastischem Rollwerk stützend, mit der anderen eine wohl sekundäre Lanze haltend. Der Torso in Metallharnisch mit graviertem Blattwerk und Blütenschmuck. Der Kopf von einer vegetabilen Haube geschmückt, die dezent das Haupthaar bedeckt. Die Schädelkalotte abgeflacht, sodass eine ehemalige Verwendung der Figuren als Stütze eines höfischen Ziermöbels angenommen werden darf. Auf jüngeren gekanteten Rechtecksockeln.
Anmerkung:
Auch nördlich der Alpen gibt es schöne Beispiele für geharnischte Putti, so etwa Putto von Hans Daucher (1486-1538) mit herzoglich sächsischen Wappen von ca. 1520, der sich einst in der Starnberger Kunsthandlung Julius Böhler und nun im Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York befindet.
