Elegantes klassizistisches Tischaufsatzgerät aus dem Atelier Jean-Baptist-Claude Odiot

Alle Silberteile gemarkt, die französischen Silbermarken mit Minervakopf ab 1838, mit rautenförmigem Firmenstempel. Paris,wohl um 1840.

Silber, vergoldet. Der französischer Feinschmied Jean-Baptiste-Claude Odiot (1763-1850), stammte aus einer Dynastie von Gold- und Silberschmieden. Ab 1785 führte er das Familienunternehmen, das bis heute existiert. Er belieferte nicht nur Kaiser Napoleon, sondern auch alle bedeutenden Höfe Europas. Seine Firma - Maison Odiot - war spezialisiert auf höchst anspruchsvolle Silbergeräte, Tafelsilber, Bestecke und Prunkgerät.
Das Tischaufsatzgerät in vergoldetem Silber enthält zwei geschliffene Kristallgefäße, eingestellt je in einen von drei Putten gehaltenen Ring, auf längsrechteckigem Sockel, getragen von Löwentatzen. Sockelwandung mit Palmettendekor. Dazwischen ein hoher Vierkantpfeiler, darauf die Figur einer Nike, in beiden Händen einen Kranz. Die Kristallbecher mit flachen Silberdeckeln mit Pinienzapfen. A.R.
