Der österreichische Grafiker, Schriftsteller und Buchillustrator lebte ab 1898 in München. Dort immatrikulierte er sich an der Königlichen Akademie für das Fach Malerei. 1909 gründete er zusammen mit u.a. Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944), Gabriele Münter (1877-1962) und Carl Hofer (1878-1955) die Neue Künstlervereinigung München. Aus dieser ging 1911 die Redaktion des Blauen Reiters hervor. Er illustrierte etwa 60 Bücher und veröffentlichte Druckgrafische Mappenwerke. Er hinterließ zudem zahlreiche Federzeichnungen. Zur Beschreibung nicht geöffnet. (13713321) (18)
