Jeweils über quadratischen Basen mit vergoldeter Ormolu-Montierung, Lanzettblätter und Lyramotive zeigend. Darüber die gefußten Empire-Vasen mit kannelierten Bündelhenkeln sowie umlaufendem Mänadendekor in Ormolu und flachem Mündungseinsatz, von Perlband gerahmt. Einmal mit ergänzter Plinthe und Inventarnummern „MD21947“ und „MD21947“. Die Vasen in Campagna-Form und in Jasper gefertigt in der Art von Pierre Philippe Thomire (1751-1843).

Anmerkung:
Vergleichbare Vasen, jedoch Thomire gestempelt, wurden am 13. Juni 2001 unter Lot 328 bei Sotheby´s London verkauft. Ein weiteres Paar von Thomire wurde bei Christie´s New York am 01. November 1990 unter Lot 54 versteigert.

A pair of Empire vases

Height: 52 cm.
Diameter: 22 cm.
Russia, first quarter of the 19th century.

One with replaced plinth and inventory numbers “MD21947” and “MD21947”. Campagna shaped vases in jasper in the style of Pierre Philippe Thomire (1751-1843).

Christie’s, 22 May 2019, lot 318.
Mikhailovsky Castle, Saint Petersburg.

Notes:
Similar vases, however stamped by Thomire were sold at auction at Sotheby´s in London on 13 June 2001, under lot 328. Another pair by Thomire was sold at Christie´s in New York on 1 November 1990 under lot 54.
