Ein Flusslauf durchzieht die hügelige Landschaft mit klassischer ruraler Architektur, die von italienischem Licht erhellt wird. Einige Fährleute bringen Vieh ans andere Ufer, ein Schauspiel für umherstehende Figuren. Gelungene Zusammenarbeit der beiden bekannten Künstler. Es wird angenommen, dass Bout von 1675 –1677 in Paris lebte, wo er häufig mit dem flämischen Maler Adriaen Frans Boudewijns d. Ä. zusammenarbeitete. (13621233) (13)
