Romantische Landschaft mit Fluss vor einem Gebirgszug. Klombecks Werke wurden häufig von Eugène Verboeckhoven (1798/99-1881) staffiert, der ab 1860 mit Klombeck zusammenarbeitete.
Der Künstler war ein Landschaftsmaler, welcher der sogenannten Klever Romantik zuzuordnen ist. Ab 1841 wurde er in der damals neu gegründeten Kunstakademie in Kleve durch den niederländischen Landschaftsmaler Barend Cornelis Koekkoek (1803-1862) unterrichtet. Zwischen 1843 und 1856 wurden seine Werke auf großen Ausstellungen gezeigt, u.a. in Amsterdam, Dresden und Berlin. (13619811) (13)
