Bronzeguss, schöne dunkle Patina. Gemäß antiker Vorbilder ist die Frauengestalt als „Venus pudica“ dargestellt, im Kontrapost auf querovaler Plinthe. Ihre linke Hand bedeckt die Scham, während sie mit der rechten Hand einen runden Spiegel hält, in den sie blickt. Das Haar mittelgescheitelt, hinten geknotet, mit einem umlaufenden Zopf, der zu beiden Seiten herabzieht. Der Typus mit Spiegel findet sich zwar schon seit griechischer Zeit, etwa bei Tanagrafiguren, ist später jedoch sehr selten zu finden. Erst in der Malerei hat Jan Gossaert, gen. Mabuse (1478-1532) dieses Motiv erneut aufgegriffen. A.R. (13512330) (11)
