Vor braunem Hintergrund der Heilige Aloisius, der dem Orden der Jesuiten angehörte, in weißem Chorhemd über schwarzem Gewand leicht nach links gebeugt und in seinen Händen ein Kruzifix haltend, das er aufmerksam betrachtet. Am unteren linken Rand ein blonder Putto, der ein Attribut des Heiligen hält: einen Lilienzweig. Das Licht fällt von der oberen Mitte auf das Haupt und die Kleidung sowie auf den Putto herab. Malerei mit starkem Hell-Dunkel-Kontrast in der typischen Manier des Künstlers. Kleiner Riss.
Anmerkung:
Der Maler war Bruder des berühmten Francesco Guardi (1712-1793) sowie Schwager von Giovanni Battista Tiepolo (1696-1770). Ferner Gründungsmitglied der venezianischen Akademie. (1320241) (18)
