Lindenholz. Schlanke Gewandfigur mit fließendem Faltenwurf, mit leicht geneigtem Haupt und zum Gebet gefalteten Händen. Ehemals gefasst, auf einer späteren Plinthe.
Anmerkung:
Die Zuschreibung in einem Gutachten von Dr. Alfred Schädler (ehemals Bayerisches Nationalmuseum, München), 09.04.1987: „Die umseitig abgebildete, mir im Original bekannte Lindenholzstatuette einer trauernden Maria aus einer Kreuzigungsgruppe (H. 18 cm, Fassung verloren) stammt m. E. aus dem Umkreis des Frankfurter Barockbildhauers Justus Glesker (um 1610/23 Hameln - 1678 Frankfurt), der vor allem durch seine Tätigkeit für die Barockausstattung des Bamberger Domes in den Jahren um 1650 bekannt geworden ist. Mit der Statuette der Dolorosa ist kompositionell und stilistisch die trauernde Maria der Kreuzigungsgruppe im Westchor des Bamberger Domes von Glesker und die von Christian Theuerkauff Glesker zugeschriebene Elfenbeinstatuette einer Dolorosa (mit Joh.
