Auf einer profilierten Steinplatte liegt ein großer Zweig mit reifen Feigen, daneben ein Korb mit Feigen und Kirschen, davor Trauben und Kirschen. Links am Rand auf einem Vorsprung der Platte hat eine Taube Platz genommen. Verrocchio hat sich wohl längere Zeit dem Thema des Stilllebens gewidmet, wobei sein Werk zwischen dem Stil Michelangelo Merisi il Caravaggios (1570/71-1610) und Michelangelo Cerquozzi (1602-1660) vermittelt, der möglicherweise Schüler Verrocchios war.
