Bronze, gegossen, ziseliert und vergoldet. Der Schaft mit einem Motiv von drei gekrümmten weiblichen Karyatiden ruht auf einem runden Sockel mit einem Fries aus Rosetten inmitten eines Laufenden Hundes. Dieses Modell, das François Rémond ab 1780 herstellte, ist von den Arbeiten von Robert-Joseph Auguste (1723-1805) inspiriert, der die neoklassische Goldschmiedekunst entwickelte. Diese Leuchter sind mit einem Paar Leuchter vergleichbar, die Auguste 1775 für König Gustav III. von Schweden anfertigte und die sich heute im Metropolitan Museum in New York befinden. Robert-Joseph Auguste wurde im Dezember 1756 durch ein Dekret des Rates von König Ludwig XV in die Gesellschaft der Goldschmiede aufgenommen und hinterlegte im Januar 1757 seine Punze. Am 23. März 1775 wurde er zum Goldschmied von König Ludwig XVI ernannt.
Dank seines Talents und seiner hervorragenden Arbeit verschaffte ihm sein Ruhm eine reiche internationale Kundschaft, insbesondere die Marquise de Pompadour, Christian VII von Dänemark, Katharina II von Russland oder Georg III von England, die ihm alle wichtige Aufträge erteilten.
