Vor unbestimmtem Grund das leicht nach rechts gewandte Brustportrait eines Mannes in bestem Alter mit feinem Leinenkragen und Schnurbart. Das Portrait ähnelt stark einem beim RKD in Den Haag verzeichnetem Portrait des Hugo de Groot, 1583 – 1645, Nr. 142522, von dem zahlreiche Schriften als Philosoph überliefert sind.

The portrait is very similar to a portrait of Hugo de Groot, 1583 – 1645, no. 142522, registered with the RKD in The Hague, from whom numerous writings as a philosopher have survived.
