Werk: Pendel an Fadenaufhängung, Schlossscheibenschlagwerk auf Glocke. Gehäuse in vergoldeter Bronze, Aufbau in Form einer großen Rocaille mit seitlichen freistehenden Blüten und Blättern, nach unten in asymmetrisch geschwungenen Formen ziehend. Bogig eingefasste Pendelöffnung unterhalb des weißen Zifferblattes in Email, mit blauen römischen Stunden und schwarzen arabischen Minuten. Hohe gewölbte Glasabdeckung. Die Zeiger durchbrochen, vergoldet und fein ziseliert.
Der Uhrmacher war Sohn des Jacques Gosselin und erlernte das Handwerk bei diesem. Die Angaben seines Geburtsjahres oder des Jahres seiner Meistererhebung 1717 sind widersprüchlich oder es liegen Übertragungsfehler vor. 1752 bis 1753 sowie 1755 bis 1757 war er „Garde Visiteur de la Communauté des Maítres-Horologers Parisiens“ und unterhielt sein Geschäft um 1738 an der Place Dauphine, später in der Rue St. Honoré. Die Gehäuse lieferten Jean-Joseph de Saint-Germain und Antoine Foullet, die Emaill-Zifferblätter A.N. Martiniére. Bekannt wurde er vor allem mit seinen Elefanten- und Rhinozeros-Uhren, für die er die Werke lieferte. Pendel und Schlüssel fehlen. Werk läuft. (1321816) (11)
