Neapolitanischer Maler des 17. Jahrhunderts

Geradezu mystisch gleitet der schmerzverzerrte Körper des Sebastian aus dem dunklen Grund des Bildes heraus an das Licht, dessen Helligkeit Heiligkeit gleichgestellt wird und ihn somit in eine andere Bedeutungsebene transferiert. Caravaggio, dessen Stil das 17. Jahrhundert maßgeblich prägte, war auch in Neapel tätig und so wirkte sich seine Malweise auch auf dort tätige Künstler aus, wie hier gut zu sehen ist. Rest.
