In einem eng aufgefassten Landschaftsauschnitt mit im Mittelgrund abschließenden Bauernhäusern ein prominent wiedergegebenes Huhn, dessen verängstigter Blick nach oben gerichtet ist. In einer kreuzartig komponierten Doppeldiagonalen ein Hühnerhabicht sich auf das Huhn stürzend.
