Kopf und Außeneinfassung in dunkel patinierter Bronze, die Innenfläche sowie das Haarband feuervergoldet, mit griechischer Beschriftung „Sophokles“ in griechischen Lettern. Oben vergoldete Hängeöse.Â
Der Bildhauer war Schüler von Christian Daniel Rauch (1777-1857) und stellte 1824 ein Theseus-Relief aus. 1833 wurde ihm für das Relief „Telemachos bittet Odysseus um das Leben des Sängers Phemius“ der Staatspreis zuerkannt. (12810315) (11)
