Auf zylindrischem Sammlungssockel der in Bronze gegossene, ziselierte und vergoldete Christus. Das Modell dieses Christus in Girardons Galerie ist mittels Kupferstich wiedergegeben und im späteren Inventar als ein Christus von François Duquesnoy (1597-1643) beschrieben, den Girardon „François le Flamand“ nennt. Er war der Sohn von Jérôme Duquesnoy, dem Autor des berühmten Manneken-Pis, mit dem er in Flandern zu arbeiten begann. Er kam nach Rom und beteiligte sich an der Realisierung des Baldachins von Bernini in Sankt Peter. Er war einer der berühmtesten ausländischen Künstler, die in Rom arbeiteten. Er ist bekannt für seine Putten, die mit einer an Tizian erinnernden Zärtlichkeit dargestellt sind.

On cylindrical collector’s base, the figure of Christ in cast, chased and gilt bronze. A model of this figure of Christ is depicted in Girardon’s gallery according to a copper engraving and described in a later inventory as Christ by François Duquesnoy (1597-1643), whom Girardon describes as “François le Flamand”.
