Vor braunem Hintergrund auf einem Tisch mit beiger, gemusterter Decke liegend, einige helle Weintrauben, zwei Pflaumen mit kleinem Zweig und ein leuchtender, samtiger Pfirsich. Als belebendes Element ist zudem ein kleines Insekt vor dem Pfirsich zu entdecken. Feine naturalistische Malerei in weicher, harmonischer Farbgebung.
Emilie Preyer war Tochter des bekannten Stilllebenmalers Johann Wilhelm Preyer (1803-1889). Sie studierte an der Königlichen Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf. Sie schuf um 250 Gemälde; mit ihrem Gespür für die Harmonie der Farben begeisterte sie ihre Zeitgenossen. Ihre Stillleben zählten zu begehrten Sammlerstücken. (1270351) (1) (18)
