Der locker arrangierte Blumenstrauß mit weißen, rötlichen und teils leicht gelblichen Blüten vor fast schwarzem Hintergrund arrangiert, in einer bauchigen Vase mit Griff. Malerei in raschem Pinselduktus mit starker Hell-Dunkel-Akzentuierung, in der typischen Manier des bekannten Künstlers. Kleinere Retuschen.
André Derain war ein französischer Künstler. Er war neben Henri Matisse (1869-1954) Hauptvertreter des Fauvismus und wird zu den ersten Malern der klassischen Moderne gezählt. Zeitweilig wurde er als führender Kopf der französischen Avantgarde angesehen und stand in engem Kontakt zu den Kubisten Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) und Georges Braque (1882-1963). 1271986) (18)
