Loiseau stellte gern Obstwiesen dar im Laufe der Jahreszeiten, hier sicherlich im gleißenden Licht eines Frühlingstages, das von rechts vorn auf die Bäume fällt und ihre Stämme einen Schatten werfen lässt. Das Licht belebt auch die einzelnen Verästelungen und die zu erahnenden jungen Blätter, deren Wiederschein einer Materialisierung des Lichtes gleichkommt. Ihre Zweige durchbrechen mit ihren widerstrebenden Richtungen die gleichförmigen horizontalen Ausrichtungen der Landschaft und des Himmels.
Loiseau war ein französischer postimpressionistischer Maler, vor allem für seine Landschaften und Szenen von Straßen bekannt. 1890 ging er nach Pont Aven in der Bretagne und verbündete sich dort mit den Künstlern, insbesondere Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) und Emile Henri Bernard (1868-1941). Loiseau was a French postimpressionist painter, who was particularly renowned for his landscapes and street scenes. He moved to Pont Aven in Brittony in 1890, where he joined forces with other artists, in particular Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) and Emile Henri Bernard (1868-1941).
