Bronze, vergoldet. Die Platte mit polychromer Marmormarketerie. Aus drei Beinen bestehender Unterbau, dessen Füße menschliche Füße nachbilden und die durch gebogene Stege miteinander verbunden sind. Die Knielösungen als plastisch ausgeformte und vergoldete Hermen mit Perlbandbesatz in der Haartracht, die durch Akanthusblattformen getrennt werden. Runddeckplatte mit reicher Ormolu-Ornamentik und zentralem Pietra dura-Bildfeld, einen Papageien in einem Kirschzweig darstellend, von zwei roten konzentrischen Kreisen begleitet, deren Mitte ein Blütenband bildet. Alles in schwarzem Basaltfond.
Anmerkung:
Das Modell für den Unterbau des vorliegenden Guéridons lässt sich finden in einem Entwurf, der von Henry Cahieux für Ferdinand Barbedienne entworfen und 1855 auf der Weltausstellung in Paris ausgestellt wurde. Henry Cahieux (1825-1854), Chefdekorateur des Kunstbronzefabrikanten Ferdinand Barbedienne, war zu einer glänzenden Karriere bestimmt, wie seine Werke, die auf den Salons 1850 und 1853 ausgestellt wurden, bezeugen.
