Bronze, ziseliert, patiniert und vergoldet sowie roter Marmor und Glas. Diese außergewöhnliche und monumentale Torchère mit geflügelter Pantherfigur aus patinierter Bronze, ein vergoldetes Bronzewappen haltend, bekrönt von einem sechsflammigen Fackelaufsatz und sitzend auf einem oktogonalen Sockel aus königlichem roten Marmor, wurde von Frédéric-Eugène Piat entworfen, einem der weitschweifendsten Bildhauer-Ornamentiker seiner Zeit. Sie wurde in Paris von Ferdinand Lhuilier-Lheureux (gest. 1925) erworben, einem wohlhabenden Bankier aus Paris, zur Zierde des großen Treppenhauses seines Chateau du Temple in L'Île Bouchard, einer üppigen und luxuriösen Residenz des „Troubadour-Stil“ in der Nähe von Theneuil, in Indre-et-Loire.

Bronze; carved, patinated and gilt and red marble and glass. This exceptional and monumental torchère with a winged panther figure in patinated bronze holding a gilt bronze coat of arms surmounted by a torchère with six lights on octagonal base in royal red marble. This is a design by Frédéric-Eugène Piat, one of the most popular sculptors and ornamental designers of his time.

Purchased by Ferdinand Lhuilier-Lheureux (died 1925), custodian of the bank Crédit Foncier Egyptien in Paris between 1900 and 19251, ca. 1886 (Ministry of Culture, Base Mérimée (IA37000520)).
