Die Darstellung zeigt vor dunklem Hintergrund vier Tauben an einer goldfarbenen Schale zur Tränke sitzend. Das Motiv geht zurück auf römische und pompejanische Malereien der Antike und zählt zu den wichtigen Bilddarstellungen der Grand Tour-Objekte. Das Mikromosaik fein gearbeitet mit umziehenden Außenrändern in hellerem und dunklerem Blau. In feuervergoldeter Bronzerahmung mit Schleifenbekrönung. Höchst aufwändig und exakt gearbeitete Bronze-Profilrahmung in Feuervergoldung. An der Rückseite abgedeckelt. (12506453) (11)

Inside diameter: 32.5 cm.
Italy/ Rome, beginning of the 19th century.
The micromosaic is finely carved and framed with outer bands in light and dark blue. Set in elaborate and precisely crafted fire-gilt bronze frame surmounted by a bow. Covered on the back.
