Interessante Komposition mit links stehendem, hohen Architekturversatzstück als Repoussoir und daneben liegendem Fluss, über welchem eine flache Brücke führt, hin zu einem vielfältig gestalteten Dorf. Besonders in der Figurenstaffage spiegelt sich der Einfluss Magnascos wieder, unter welchem Pedone stand.

Der Künstler malte hauptsächlich Landschaften, oftmals Nachtbilder oder skurrile Architektur in einer wilden Landschaft. Er wurde beeinflusst von Marco Ricci (1676/79-1729/30) und Antonio Marini (1778/88-1861), in Bezug auf seine Figuren jedoch auch von Alessandro Magnasco (um 1667-1749) und Salvator Rosa (1615-1673).
