Bronze, gegossen, patiniert. Über ovalem Stand naturalistisch gestalteter Boden mit römischem Soldat in von Pferden gezogenem Streitwagen. Frémiet stellte seit 1843 im Pariser Salon aus und erlangte zahlreiche Auszeichnungen. Er beerbte Louis Barye als Professor für Tierzeichnungen am Naturhistorischen Museum in Paris. (†)
