Auf der Plinthe hinten rechts monogrammiert „M“. Hinten an der Schmalseite der Standfläche Gießerstempel „CIRE PERDUE C.VALSUANI“. Posthumer Guss.

Auf einem flachen Sockel stehende junge nackte Frau, in den Händen, hinter ihrem Rücken, einen dünnen Schal haltend.
Für viele seiner bewundernden Zeitgenossen zeigte sich Maillol als Neuschöpfer des klassischen Kanons und damit als Garant für dessen mögliche Erneuerbarkeit. Nicht nur Maurice Denis (1870-1943) erkannte begeistert, Maillol vereinte die „Tugend eines Klassikers mit der Unschuld eines Primitiven“, auch André Flamant-Gide schwärmte 1905 anläßlich einer Maillol-Ausstellung „Sie ist schön, sie versinnbildlicht nichts... Wie schön liegt der Schatten auf dieser Stirn! Kein Gedanke gräbt Falten in sie ein. Welch' schlichte Schönheit der Flächen und Linien... Die schöne Form bleibt urtümlich“.
