In extremem Hochformat die Darstellung einer Bucht von Küstenarchitekturen begrenzt, welche sich vom Glanz des auf dem Gewässer reflektierenden Sonnenlichts ebenso abheben wie die polychrom dargestellte Kleidung einiger Fischer und Betrachter des Naturschauspiels der untergehenden Sonne.
Anmerkung:
Gemälde mit Küstenstädten Italiens von dem gebürtigen Mailänder sind etwa in der Pinacoteca Brera zu sehen. Der Schüler von Delacroix (1798-1863) fertigte viele Arbeiten an, welche als Claude Lorrain (1604-1682) und Salvator Rosa (1615-1673) verkauft wurden. (1221839) (2) (13)
