Verso auf grünem Schaumstoff betitelt „El Varadero“ und signiert „Gilardi“. Beigegeben eine Fotografie des vorliegenden Objekts, auf der der Künstler auf der Rückseite handschriftlich das Werk als eigenständige Arbeit bestätigt sowie mit Titel und Datierung.

Gilardi studierte am Liceo Artistico in Turin. Er trug wesentlich zur Gründung der Arte Povera bei. Zu seiner künstlerischen Entfaltung trug insbesondere seine Begegnung u. a. mit Michelangelo Pistoletto bei. Später wandte er sich immer mehr dem Environment und der Interaktion und Kommunikation in sozialer Sphäre zu.
