Das vorliegende Gemälde reiht sich in die zahlreichen Werke Sebastiano Concas mit nackten Knaben ein, welche bei der Fondazione Zeri dokumentiert sind und sich, etwa in Form von Allegorien, im Walters Art Museum in Baltimore befinden. Die das Gemälde ausfüllende Darstellung des Christuskindes, welches seinen Blick auf den Betrachter gerichtet hat und seine rechte Hand zum Segensgruß erhebt, während die linke Hand ein Kreuz hält.
