Auf einer Hochebene mit Bergspitzen im Nebel das prachtvolle braune Pony auf einer Wiese stehend, davor zwei Collies am Boden liegend. Im Hintergrund rechts eine Kuhherde. Das Pferd mit prachtvoller Mähne und dunkelbraunem leuchtenden Auge, mit dem er aus dem Bild herausschaut, die Hunde in schwarz-braunem und grau-beige-weißem Fell. Hervorragende Tierdarstellung des bekannten britischen Malers.
Englischer Tiermaler in Birmingham, 1890 in Brentford tätig, beschickte 1849 – 1890 die Londoner Ausstellungen der Royal Academy. (1191505) (18)
