Die beiden Bilder, als Gegenstücke gearbeitet, zeigen jeweils hohe Tempelsäulen mit Gebälk, Steinfragmente und bewachsenes Gemäuer. In einem der Bilder im Torbogendurchblick eine Reiterstatue, die an das Reiterdenkmal des Marc Aurel in Rom erinnern soll. Die Figuren in agierender Bewegung wohl mit Bezug auf antike Literatur.
