Zuweisung an den Künstler durch beigegebene Expertise vom Kunstbureau Luuk Pijl, Dokkum, Niederlande vom 03.Oktober 2016.
Das Gelände ist aus der Kavaliersperspektive gesehen. Im Mittelgrund seitlich hochziehende, mächtige Felsen, von Gestrüpp und Bäumen bewachsen, links eine Baumgruppe als Repoussoir. Rechts zieht der Berg höher nach oben hin, in blauer Luftperspektive wiedergegeben. In der Bildmitte öffnet sich die Landschaft bis zum Horizont mit grünen Wiesen mit Schafherde und dahinziehenden Rindern. Im Vordergrund wird die karge Landschaft belebt durch mehrere Reiter und wanderndes Fußvolk mit mitgeführten Eseln. Die für den Maler typische Hellfarbigkeit der Landschaft sowie die Detailgenauigkeit in den Staffagefiguren findet sich auch im vorliegenden Bild wieder. So stellt auch das beiligende Gutachten fest, dass das Landschaftsgemälde in der charakteristischen Manier von Ryckaert geschaffen wurde, auch die Figuren betreffend. Im Gutachten werden mehrere Vergleichsbeispiele genannt, wobei erwähnt wird, dass sich die Komposition auf eine Landschaft des Paul Bril (um 1553/54 – 1626) zurückführen lässt, welches in das Jahr 1609 datiert.

53.5 x 67.5 cm.
Attribution to the artist based on the enclosed expert’s report from Kunstbureau Luuk Pijl, Dokkum, The Netherlands dated 3 October 2016. The report also states that the landscape painting was created in a style characteristic for Ryckaert, as are the figures. It lists several examples of comparison, however, notes that the composition traces back to a landscape painting by Paul Bril (ca. 1553/54 – 1626) dated 1609.
