Dreiviertelportrait eines mit Alonge-Perücke dargestellten, mittelalten Mannes, welcher ein Schreiben in seiner rechten Hand hält, während seine linke einer Stuhllehne aufliegt. Reich verzierte Brokatstoffe umhüllen seinen Körper. Ein weiters venezianisches Prokuratorenportrait befindet sich in der Fondazione Querini Stampalia.
Bombelli wurde in seiner Jugend in Bologna bei Guercino (1591-1666) ausgebildet, er erlangte weiteres Wissen in der Werkstatt von Justus Sustermans (1597-1681) in Florenz und erreichte daraufhin einen guten Ruf als Portraitist in Europa. (1171663) (5) (13) Â
