Gezeigt ist - dem griechischen Mythos gemäß - Europa, die von Zeus, verwandelt in einen Stier, entführt wird. Die stilistische Merkmale treffen auf die beiden genannten Maler zu und auch der venezianische Einfluss von Il Veronese (1528-1588) und der Vergleich mit dessen Gemälde gleichnamigen Themas ist unverkennbar. Die Wiedergabe des landschaftlichen Hintergrundes mit Bäumen und einer blühenden Hecke zeigt die Nachwirkungen des Pieter Brueghels d. J. (um 1564-1637/38). (1170041) (12) (11)
