Afro Basaldella,
1912 Udine – 1976 Zürich
Der Künstler studierte in Florenz und Venedig. Er nahm mehrfach an der Biennale in Venedig und der Documenta in Kassel teil. Ab 1952 Mitgleid der "Gruppo degli Otto". Seine Werke sind in verschiedenen internationalen Museen vertreten, wie dem MoMA in New York, der Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna in Mailand oder der Tate Gallery, London. Die zunehmend abstrakter werdenden Arbeiten des Künstlers wurden beeinflusst durch Klee und den späten Kubismus.FRAUENAKT, 1937Öl auf Holzplatte.

Accompanied by a photographic certificate of authenticity, dated Rome 27 October 1989. Painted in loose brushstrokes in muted brown tones, in parts with light highlights, and in expressive posture.
