Der Künstler gilt als einer der bedeutensten Schlachten- und Portraitmaler des späten 19. und beginnenden 20. Jahrhunderts. Sohn des bekannten polnischen Malers Juliusz Kossak (1824-1899). Studium in Krakau, München und Paris. Ab 1913 Professor an der Kunstakademie in Warschau.SOLDAT HOCH ZU ROSS, 1932 Öl auf Platte.
