Werke seiner Hand in zahlreichen bedeutenden Museen, u. a. im Pariser Musée de l´Orangerie.
Galerie Billiet/ Gildo Cafruto...". Ferner runde Gummistempel auf Leinwand und Keilrahmen mit Umschrift.

Gino Severini,
1883 Cortona – 1966 Paris
FEMALE NUDE WITH GUITAR AND STILL LIFE
Oil on canvas.
46 x 61 cm.
Signed on the right below her left hand.
Important Italian painter of Classic Modernism from the circle of Umberto Boccioni (1882 - 1916) and Giacomo Balla (1871 - 1958). His works are today held in numerous famous museums such as the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris. The painting on offer for sale in this lot can be acknowledged as a masterpiece of the 1940s. Reducing the composition to essential figural elements and its post-cubistic style show the late aftermath of futurism. The style here is, however, toned down and focuses on a new and aesthetic effect. Printed and handwritten paper labels inscribed "Envoi de la GALERIE SELECTION/ Tableaux de Maitres Contemporains 59 Avenue Jules-Ferry Tunis" [delivery by GALERIE SLECTION/ paintings by contemporary masters (.)] on the reverse and hardly legible handwritten inscription "... Galerie Billiet/ Gildo Cafruto...". Furthermore, round rubber stamps on canvas and stretcher inscribed.
